When attending their vaccine appointment, people are reminded to bring their completed consent form (available online at https://protectmb.ca), wear a short-sleeved shirt, wear a mask and bring their health card. To help support good physical distancing on-site, people should only arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time.
Appointments and Eligibility Criteria Today, eligibility to be immunized at a super site or pop-up clinic have been expanded to include individuals aged 69 or older and First Nation people aged 49 or older.
Appointments are currently available at all five super sites in Winnipeg, Brandon, Selkirk, Thompson and Morden. Details about additional pop-up clinics will be provided next week.
Eligible individuals can book their appointment at a super site online at https://protectmb.ca with an email address and their health card number. Appointments can also be made at super sites or pop-ups by calling (toll-free) 1-844-626-8222 (1-844-MAN-VACC).
The Covishield (AstraZeneca) vaccine is now available through some medical clinics and pharmacies. For more information about this vaccine, including its eligibility criteria and how to access it if you are eligible, visit https://protectmb.ca.
Vaccine Administration To date, 123,144 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 83,641 first doses and 39,503 second doses. This data includes vaccine administered at medical clinics and pharmacies, though there may be a slight delay in reporting from some of these locations. This week, Focused Immunization Teams (FITs) visited more than 70 congregate living facilities with an estimated 3,600 beds to provide first doses of the vaccine. Next week they will visit another 100 locations to provide first doses to eligible residents. Vaccine Supply and Distribution To date, a total of 193,760 doses of vaccine have been delivered to Manitoba. This includes: • 126,360 doses of Pfizer vaccine; • 49,400 doses of the Moderna vaccine; and • 18,000 doses of the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine. Next week, Manitoba expects to receive 42,120 doses of Pfizer and 40,600 doses of Moderna. Additional Information Manitoba’s daily maximum capacity measures the number of doses the province could give every day, if vaccine supply was not an issue. The provincial target is 20,000 doses per day by April and it is currently 18,973. All data in this bulletin is current as of March 18, unless noted otherwise.
