Public health officials advise 11 new deaths in people with COVID-19 are being reported today:
a female in her 70s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to the B.1.617.2 (delta) variant of concern (reported Friday);
a male in his 60s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Friday);
a male in his 70s from Southern Health-Santé Sud (reported Friday);
a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Friday);
a male in his 80s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to the outbreak at Third Crossing Manor (reported Saturday);
a female in her 70s from Interlake-Eastern health region and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Sunday);
a female in her 60s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Sunday);
a male in his 50s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Health Sciences Centre GD4 unit and the unspecified variant of concern (reported Sunday);
a female in her 40s from Southern Health-Santé Sud (reported Sunday);
a male in his 80s from Southern Health-Santé Sud and linked to the unspecified variant of concern (reported Monday); and
a female in her 80s from Southern Health-Santé Sud (reported Monday).
Today’s five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.7 per cent provincially and 2.9 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 660 new cases of the virus have been identified since Friday: 201 cases on Friday, Nov. 19; 164 cases on Saturday, Nov. 20; 159 cases on Sunday, Nov. 21; and 136 cases today. Eighteen cases have been removed due to data correction. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 66,826. There were 136 new cases identified in Manitoba today. Of these, 71 are in individuals who were not fully vaccinated. 1,528 active cases and 64,006 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19;
152 Manitobans hospitalized with COVID-19 including 107 people with active COVID-19 as well as 45 people who are no longer infectious;
a total of 24 Manitoba patients receiving intensive care for COVID-19 including 18 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 as well as six people who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care;
2,549 laboratory tests were completed yesterday, bringing the total number of lab tests completed since early February 2020 to 1,153,020; and
the total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 is 1,292.
Outbreaks have been declared at:
Manitoba Development Centre Lawnside unit in Portage la Prairie;
Holy Family Home in Winnipeg;
Grace Hospital 4 North surgery unit in Winnipeg;
Village View Lodge assisted living in Plumas;and
Country Meadow personal care home in Neepawa.
